The Berger Blanc Suisse or White Swiss Shepherd Dog is a powerful, well-muscled, medium-sized white shepherd dog with erect ears and an elongated, harmonious outline, recognised by the FCI in group 1 and given "companion and family dog" as its utilization. Its double coat comes in a medium-length and a long variety, both with abundant undercoat under hard straight protection hair, and the colour is white. Males stand 58–66 cm and weigh about 30–40 kg; females stand 53–61 cm and weigh about 25–35 kg. The American and Canadian line of the same white shepherds is registered by the UKC as the White Shepherd (recognised 1999) and is in this catalogue under that name; the two registries keep separate standards.
