At a glance
The Great Anglo-French Tricolour Hound is one of the three large Anglo-French pack hounds, a solid dog with French predominance and a certain distinction that expresses its Foxhound origin to varying degrees. Its coat is short and more or less strong, tricolour, most often with a black blanket or more or less spread-out black patches over bright or coppery tan; the mixed-hair "louvard" colouring is not excluded, but excess mottling is undesirable. It stands 60 to 70 cm at the withers. The 1983 FCI standard has no Behaviour / Temperament section; its stated use is simply scenthound, with a working trial, and aggressive or overly shy dogs are disqualified.

Behaviour
The 1983 standard carries no temperament section
The FCI standard of 27 January 1983 gives no Behaviour / Temperament section for this breed. Its stated utilization is simply "scenthound", classified with the large-sized hounds and requiring a working trial; the only wording bearing on character is the disqualification of aggressive or overly shy dogs and of anything that would hinder the dog's utilisation.
