At a glance
The Français Blanc et Orange is one of the large French pack hounds, recognised by the UKC in 1996 and described in its standard simply as a typical, rustic, distinguished French hound. It stands about 62–70 cm at the withers in both sexes, with a short, fine coat in white and lemon or white and orange — the orange never so dark that it looks red — long low-set ears reaching nearly to the nose, and an easy, light, sustained gait. The standard covers construction only; viciousness or extreme shyness is a disqualification.

Health
This page is general information compiled from published sources. It is not veterinary, legal or purchase advice. Dogs vary within a breed — talk to a vet or a reputable breeder about the dog in front of you.
Health notes are not veterinary advice. Conditions listed are those reported for the breed, not a diagnosis of any dog. Always consult a veterinarian.
No published breed-specific screening
The UKC breed standard is the only kennel-club document found for this breed and it does not discuss health; no parent-club health page or breed-specific veterinary study was located. Ask your vet what routine screening suits a dog of this size and job.
Behaviour
A working French pack hound; shyness and viciousness disqualified
The UKC standard gives no separate temperament section for this breed; it describes a typical, rustic, distinguished French hound with a rather easy, light and sustained gait, and disqualifies viciousness or extreme shyness.
