Cimarrón Uruguayo
Draft — this profile is still being checked.
At a glance
The Cimarrón Uruguayo descends from dogs left behind by Spanish and Portuguese conquerors, which bred among themselves in the wild until natural selection left only the fittest, strongest and cleverest; the inhabitants later domesticated them and used them to guard estates and to work cattle. It is a medium-sized dogue-type dog, strong, compact, well boned, muscled and agile, with a short, smooth coat over an undercoat, brindle or any shade of fawn; males stand 58–61 cm and weigh 38–45 kg, females 55–58 cm and 33–40 kg. The FCI standard sums up its temperament as balanced, intelligent and of great courage.
