At a glance
The Braque Saint-Germain was created in France around 1830 by crossing an English Pointer with a Continental pointer, and was so fashionable that it was the most exhibited pointing breed at the first French dog shows. It is a medium-sized fawn-and-white pointer of about 53–62 cm with relatively heavy bone, strong musculature and a short coat that is not too fine. The UKC standard describes it as sociable and easy to train, an excellent hunter with a soft mouth.
