The Beagle-Harrier is a French pack scenthound of medium proportions — balanced, distinguished, agile and vigorous — standing 45 to 50 cm at the withers with a rather thick, flat tricolour coat; grey tricolours and white-greys are neither disqualified nor penalised on colour alone. The FCI standard in force since 2023 has no Behaviour / Temperament section: the only temperament wording it carries is a required frank, lively and intelligent expression, a fault for a frightened, soft or unintelligent appearance, and the disqualification of aggressive or overly shy dogs.
