Screening the parent club recommends
The AKC breed page says that although the breed is healthy it is recommended that all Stumpies be screened for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy and rod-cone atrophy, and that all puppies be BAER tested because the breed carries deafness; primary lens luxation is also named. Ask your vet or breeder about these tests.
